Well this is where I demonstrate I'm a moderate, I guess. x3

1.) Arizona's immigration law.

I understand the furor over it, because racial profiling is a very bad thing. It really is.

I've read the law though, it bans racial profiling as 'reasonable suspicion'.

Moreover, I'm torn by an intellectual argument, the same one used to 'profile' other races for other things.

That is, the argument of the stereotype. Stereotypes, by their definition, would not exist if it was not largely true or perceived as true.

For example, statistically, some 80 to 95 percent of the illegal immigrants in the United States are of Mexican or Lat

The news has had alot of things to cover recently, but I'm sure most of you have at least heard a little bit about the flooding here in Tennessee, and how Nashville's downtown is practically floating right now.

Well, thankfully, I'm not in Nashville, I'm in Clarksville. And the only real thing here is a few homes were flooded by streams, and the bridges are all closed for safety reasons. The Cumberland and Red rivers divide the city into 3 parts, so the city has literally been trisected by the flooding. Not to mention the creeks, cricks, brooks, streams, and tributaries. So it's more like 3 major parts with a few smaller fragments.

First of all, I'm beginning to suspect the name United States is a misnomer. The political situation in this nation has been divided by half-and-half for longer than I've been alive. We really are living in two different Americas, sadly.

The Tea Party is outraged that there are gaps in the border that continue to let Mexicans through.

What is really going on:

For the past six days, MSN has royally effed up for me. For example:

It shows me as offline when I'm not.
It shows me as online when I'm not.
It kicks my messages back at me repeatedly, without warning, and generally does not send them all through.

It even will show me as offline to one person and online to another.

Add requests are not registering.

Signing into my account via Meebo was just as glitchy with no responses.

I mean, one, you don't burn holy books. That's disrespectful and it makes all of us Americans look bad.

Two, and more importantly, you don't burn ANY books. Period. They are useful. They can be recycled, stored, used, sold, etc.

I don't care if it's a Koran, a VCR Manual, or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, you do not burn books. At all. It's stupid, it pollutes the environment, and someone worked very hard to type/write that book. It's not like machines came up with that content or anything. So don't do it. Ok, this is disconcerting.

Ummm...apparently, there's a conflict of interests between myself and...well, long story short, the forum's down until a dispute can be resolved, and since it's 2 against 1 I'm in a position where I wasn't even involved in the decision to suspend the forum.

That being said...ummm...I don't know what to do. It looks like the decision will be to kill the forum because I can't sway either of the other people. If that happens, I won't be part of the management of the next forum they make; so instead I'll probably make my own. Good news and bad news. Mostly inbetween.

Good news: Doing good in everything except calculus, and the semester is about half-over. So far, that means I might actually do good in everything (except calculus) at the end.

Bad news: Doing bad in calculus. Came to the conclusion the teaching style of the professor is not the kind I need. He just gives notes, and expects you to teach yourself. I need a more step-by-step "This is why the problem works like this" approach that doesn't assume I already know the basics of algebra, because...honestly, it wouldn't matter if I did. Different things violate the laws of algebra so ofte
